The 2024 FMCG & Retail Employment Insights & Salary Guide

Discover the latest employment trends and salary insights shaping the FMCG & Retail industry in 2024.

About the Report

Looking to attract and retain top talent within FMCG & Retail in 2024? We asked over 200 FMCG and Retail professionals to nominate their top priorities when looking for a new role.

The survey findings highlight several key trends in Australia's job market. High cost-of-living pressures have led to competitive salaries being a common expectation among workers. A significant 52% of respondents plan to switch jobs in the coming year, driven largely by dissatisfaction with compensation. Additionally, there is a noticeable gap in formal learning and development opportunities, with only 40% reporting access to such programs, contributing to high turnover rates. Candidates prioritise company culture and expect robust onboarding practices, especially regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Legislative changes are pushing organisations to address gender pay gaps and enhance workplace diversity metrics.
